Remodelers Get Proven Success Strategies and Business Forms in Newly Revised NAHB Book

September 25, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Remodelers just starting up a business and those who want to streamline their companies to be more profitable and efficient now have a new resource to tap.  BuilderBooks, the publishing arm for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has released The Paper Trail: Systems and Forms for a Well-Run Remodeling Company, Second Edition.

A book and CD combination, the second edition of the The Paper Trail provides more than 160 customizable contracts, letters, checklists, spreadsheets and other forms to help remodelers run a successful business. These forms and documents, which were carefully selected from hundreds submitted by remodelers across the country, address the most important management challenges faced by remodeling companies, including effective sales and marketing, communications, production and business and financial management.

“Having the right business systems in place is critical in running a successful remodeling company,” said NAHB Remodelers Chairman Greg Miedema, CGR, CGB, CAPS, CGP, a remodeler from Tucson, Ariz. “This new resource not only gives a leg up to those starting out in business, but it also provides even veteran remodelers with the tools to improve their business operations.”

Authors William Asdal and Wendy A. Jordan provide remodelers the tools to:

- Establish goals and monitor progress
- Market their company professionally
- Sell the most profitable jobs
- Communicate effectively with clients
- Protect business assets
- Manage construction efficiently

Originally published in 2002, the book sold out in its first printing. The new edition contains helpful improvements including new and revised forms; detailed explanations of how, when and where to use each form; systematic organization of the forms; and indexes of the forms both by subject and type.

William Asdal, CGR, is an award-winning remodeler and owner of Asdal Builders, LLC, of Chester, N.J., and is former chairman of the NAHB Remodelers. Wendy A. Jordan, CAPS, is an award-winning journalist and author of many books on remodeling management and design.
