For Rent Media Solutions Pioneers Social Media Enhancements
Google +1 and Facebook Like added to ForRent.com
NORFOLK, VA – August 10, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — For Rent Media Solutions™, a leading resource for apartment searches nationwide and a division of Dominion Enterprises, has launched two social media advancements to their anchor site, ForRent.com®. These new enhancements will improve the user experience and reinforce For Rent Media Solutions’ position on the cutting edge of social media usage.
Google +1, which helps users make decisions through their Google search, has been added to all ForRent.com listing profile pages – a first in the multi-family housing industry. Located in the property information section under the listing’s phone number, Google +1 allows prospective renters to publically recommend the apartment community’s profile on ForRent.com, while simultaneously drawing in more people to click on the listing from Google’s search results pages. In addition, it allows ForRent.com customers to see how many +1’s in Google’s search results occur for their listing on ForRent.com.
Also added to the ForRent.com listing profile pages is the Facebook Like button. Located under the property information section of a listing, directly underneath the property’s phone number, this feature allows users to ‘Like’ a property, while also displaying the number of people that have already ‘Liked’ the page. This lets a user share apartment listings with friends on Facebook, and by clicking the Like button on the property listing, a story appears in the user’s Facebook News Feed with a link back to the listing on ForRent.com. ForRent.com customers that have upgraded to the Marketplace Expert package, will receive the added benefit of the ‘Like’ linking to the Facebook Business Page, which is a first for an ILS in the multifamily housing industry. This expands the reach of a listing, driving a larger fan base to the community.
