Architects Praise Unanimous Mark-up of Design-Build Legislation by House Oversight and Government Reform Committee
WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 22, 2014 – (RealEstateRama) — The American Institute of Architects (AIA) today issued the following statement on the unanimous approval of H.R. 2750, the Design-Build Efficiency and Jobs Act, by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. “We applaud the unanimous approval by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee of this crucial piece of legislation, which will spur more competition and help the government – and by inference, its taxpayers – build projects that are safe, productive and sustainable.
“In particular, we want to commend Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) and Ranking Member Elijah Cummings (D-MD) for their leadership on this bill.
“H.R. 2750, the Design-Build Efficiency and Jobs Act, will provide more opportunities for architects to compete for federal government business which means a better product.”
