May 2014 Residential Permit Statistics

WASHINGTON, D.C. - June 30, 2014 - (RealEstateRama) -- Residential building permits have not yet approached the monthly averages established during the past 35 years, but May 2014 did extend the levels achieved during the past 12 months. With 381 single family permits issued during May 2014, the year-to-date total for 2014 is now 1,685 for the eight county metropolitan area. While May’s permit count is a decrease of 60 permits from April, the year-to-date total is a 4 percent increase over 2013, according to the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City’s (HBA) monthly Residential Building Permit Statistics report.
