Current President Set to Retire in August After 37-Year Career

DENVER – May 8, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Geoff Lewis, RE/MAX (NYSE: RMAX) Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer has been named President upon the announcement that Vinnie Tracey plans to retire. Tracey assumes the title of President Emeritus until his retirement after the August Broker/Owner convention. Lewis led the RE/MAX Legal Department since joining the company in 2004 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and was promoted to his recent position in 2013.

“Over the last ten years, I’ve seen RE/MAX and our industry deal with a great variety of issues and I’m ready for whatever the future holds,” said Lewis. “I thank Vinnie for his contributions and look forward to working with our great RE/MAX Affiliates and headquarters staff.”

Lewis was instrumental in guiding RE/MAX through its IPO process in 2013 and has continued to provide critical leadership to the company with its new public status. Under Lewis, the Legal Department has provided services to RE/MAX, LLC, its divisions and affiliated companies. The Human Resources and Risk Management departments also reported to him.

Prior to joining RE/MAX, Lewis was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and General Counsel for Hyster-Yale, Inc. (NYSE:HY), a multibillion dollar manufacturing, marketing and sales company. In that position, he led the company’s worldwide mergers and acquisitions efforts.

Tracey began his career in 1977 as Marketing Representative with the RE/MAX of Tennessee and Kentucky region. Accepting responsibilities in multiple areas, he advanced through positions overseeing franchising, marketing, training, relocation and community affairs, and was named President in 2004.

“It’s been an amazing ride,” said Tracey. “It’s not easy to walk away because I’ll miss the many good friends I’ve made over the years. And I’ll always remember the wonderful people who helped me along the way and taught me so much about this business and about life.”

Tracey is best known for his personal relationships with RE/MAX Affiliates and his guidance on building stronger businesses. He dedicated himself to improving the real estate industry, serving on several advisory groups with the National Association of Realtors. He also set an example for real estate professionals by giving back generously, and is a Past Chair and member of the Board of Governors for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
