Appraisal Institute Honors 9 National Award Winners

CHICAGO (June 12, 2017) –- (RealEstateRama) — William T. Anglyn, MAI, of Marietta, Georgia; and Donald S. Boucher Sr., SRA, of Orange, Virginia, were honored Saturday with the Appraisal Institutes Lifetime Achievement Award and Woody R. Fincham, SRA, AI-RRS, of Charlottesville, Virginia, was named the recipient of the Outstanding Service Award during the International Valuation Conference in Ottawa, Ontario.

Two individuals also were announced as winners of the annual Presidents Award from the Appraisal Institute, the nations largest professional association of real estate appraisers with nearly 19,000 professionals in almost 60 countries. Additionally, four valuation professionals were honored by the Appraisal Institute Education Trust.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an Appraisal Institute professional who demonstrates high ethical standards; has volunteered several years of service and has contributed to the Appraisal Institute on the international, national, region and/or chapter level; has served his or her community; and has contributed to the appraisal profession for at least 20 years.

The Outstanding Service Award is presented to an Appraisal Institute professional who contributed ideas, service hours and dedication to ensure a program or effort is implemented at either the chapter, region, national or international level; is instrumental in the success of the program or effort, which must be far enough along to measure and provide proof of success; and the program or effort must be beneficial to chapters, regions or national or international professionals.

This years Presidents Award recipients were César Servando Cantú Martinez, MAI, SRA, of Monterrey, Mexico; and Pledger M. Bishop III, MAI, SRA, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The Presidents Award is presented to an Appraisal Institute professional who is committed to the organization; currently engaged in its activities; an effective spokesperson; a representative at all times; and in touch with both the needs of other AI professionals and the changes that the organization must help its professionals to meet.

The Appraisal Institute Education Trust honored the following individuals: Frank E. Harrison, MAI, SRA, of Woodstock, Illinois (Dr. William N. Kinnard Jr. Award); Laurence A. Hirsh, MAI, of Villanova, Pennsylvania (George L. Schmutz Award); J. Carl Schultz Jr., MAI, SRA, of Atlanta (James H. Pritchett Award); and Michael V. Tankersley, MAI, SRA, AI-RRS, of Lewisburg, Tennessee (Y.T. and Louise Lee Lum Award).
