Washington D.C. – March 13, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata departed Washington, DC for Pago Pago for a district work trip to conduct constituent outreach, formulate advisory council’s and visit various facilities across the islands.
Amata will be visiting constituents across the islands to get a better understanding of the issues that are of concern to them. She will also be visiting installations around the islands, including the VA Clinic in Pago Pago and the Lyndon B. Johnson Tropical Medical Center. Visits to these facilities across the islands will assist the Congresswoman as she makes her case for improvements here in Washington.
Knowing the importance of the people’s input into matters that directly affect them, Congresswoman Aumua Amata will be forming advisory councils on the issues that matter most to American Samoa including, veterans, business and Pacific Territory issues.
“The purpose of these visits back home is essential to maintaining touch with the people,” said Amata. “While most Members of Congress return to their districts every weekend; due to the distance and long travel time between Washington and American Samoa, it just isn’t practical for me to do the same. Instead, I will be taking week long visits once a month. I want to make sure that the people know I am listening to their concerns and value their input.” concluded Amata.
