Miami, FL – January 16, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24) will join local elected officials, law enforcement officers, community leaders, pastors, and residents of Miami’s Liberty Square Housing Project for a Peace and Unity rally tonight at 5:00 p.m. at the Liberty Square Community Center in the wake of ongoing, deadly gun violence. “As we prepare to observe the national holiday honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Monday, January 19th, let us remember the victims of deadly shootings in Miami-Dade County and work together to find solutions and bring about peace.

“We cannot stand by and watch as innocent children and young adults are targeted by heartless criminals. We all have the right to feel safe in our homes and in our neighborhoods. We all must do our part to ensure that our communities safe and free of those who would break the law and do us harm.

“Let us honor Dr. King by embodying his teachings of peace, love, kindness and understanding of all people,” said Congresswoman Wilson.
