East Tail Water Site at Croton Dam Temporarily Closed for Construction Project July 11 – August 26

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — Consumers Energy is temporarily closing the East Tail Water site at Croton Dam from July 11 to August 26 to accommodate a construction project to enhance the facility’s left embankment and the fishing access site.

“These enhancements will improve the safety and enjoyment for anglers and others who access the Muskegon River from the east side of the waterway,” said Rich Castle, Consumers Energy’s natural resource administrator for hydro operations. “While this work is being done, recreationalists will still be able to access the river by Croton Dam at the Croton West Tail Water site as well as at the Kimball Park boat launch and fishing access site downstream of the Hardy Croton Drive Bridge.”

Signs will clearly mark that the site is closed during construction.

Castle reminds visitors to quickly exit the river if they hear the sirens that signal dangerous changes to flow conditions at hydro facilities.

Consumers Energy, Michigan’s largest utility, is the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy (NYSE: CMS), providing natural gas and electricity to 6.7 million of the state’s 10 million residents in all 68 Lower Peninsula counties.
