WASHINGTON – December 01, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Senator John Hoeven, a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded three grants totaling $255,502 to housing authorities in North Dakota to help families increase their earned income and reduce their need for rental subsidies and other assistance. The funds are made available through HUD’s Family Self-Sufficiency program, which provides families with opportunities for education, job training, counseling and other services. The details of the awards are as follows:

Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority – $107,505
Grand Forks Housing Authority – $104,385
Minot Housing Authority – $43,612

“North Dakota’s economy continues to grow and employees are in high demand,” Hoeven said. “That means good job opportunities for our residents. Today’s award will help families and individuals who receive housing assistance to develop the skills and knowledge they need to secure better jobs and achieve economic independence.”
