MIAMI – April 27, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Journalists who attend NAREE’s Spring Conference in Miami can interview dozens of the world’s top real estate newsmakers, tour the country’s hottest luxury condo market and hone their digital reporting skills.

The National Association of Real Estate Editors will hold its 49 Annual Conference from June 24-27 at the InterContinental Miami. The event will feature an impressive roster of nationally and internationally known speakers, including Ian Schrager, creator of the boutique hotel concept; I-Fei Chang, of the Greenland US Holding Companies; “Condo King” Jorge M. Pérez, of The Related Group (who will address media attendees at one of his Brickell Avenue properties); Scott Stowell, CEO of Standard Pacific Homes; and real estate entrepreneur R. Donahue “Don” Peebles, of The Peebles Corporation.

The Counselors of Real Estate Chairman Noah D. Shlaes and architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia, a founding principal of Arquitectonica, will open the conference on Wednesday, June 24, while Mortgage Bankers Association CEO David H. Stevens and Anthony Hsieh, founder of loanDepot LLC, will speak on a panel Wednesday afternoon.

NAREE’s conference, “A World View of Real Estate,” is expected to trend again this year on social media as journalists report on residential and commercial real estate, the mortgage market, EB-5 and crowdfunding, international buyers, luxury real estate, mixed-use development and resiliency, affordable housing, vacation homes and seniors housing.

“Whether you cover national news or write stories focused on local real estate, the NAREE conference will make you a better reporter or editor,” said NAREE President Shonda Novak, a reporter at the Austin American-Statesman.

Daily peer-to-peer NAREE University professional development sessions led by NAREE Past Presidents Daniel Taub, Bloomberg News; Kris Hudson, Wall Street Journal; Valerie Kellogg, Newsday; Mary Shanklin, Orlando Sentinel and others, will prepare journalists to excel in today’s evolving news platforms at the NAREE ’15 conference.

The event also includes NAREE’s popular “Meet the Press,” headed by NAREE Past President Sue Doerfler of The Arizona Republic; the NAREE Bruss Book Awards Luncheon, with NAREE Past PresidentsBrad Inman of Inman News and Leigh Robinson, Express Publishing; the “New Species in Journalism” Lunch and the Saturday Morning Review, all of which will speed up the “digital first” learning curve for both veteran journalists and those new to the real estate beat.

Conferees will also have a chance to view the work of leading real estate journalists when Past President Lauren Beale, Los Angeles Times columnist, presents NAREE’s Awards of Excellence at the 65th Annual Real Estate Journalism Awards Ceremony on Friday evening, June 26.

NAREE’s headquarters hotel, the InterContinental Miami, overlooks Biscayne Bay and Bayfront Park and is not far from the sky full of cranes remaking the city.

“Conferees will get a feel for Miami’s large scale urban redevelopment and waterfront environs as we take the Metromover to the nearby nine-acre Brickell City Centre and travel by boat across Biscayne Bay to Miami Beach,” said NAREE Executive Director and Past President Mary Doyle-Kimball. “You can’t beat NAREE ’15 for great news gathering, skill building and networking in the urban tropics.”
