WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 29, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — On January 16, 2013, Lake Norman Realty associates and executives gathered at River Run Country Club for the company’s annual Awards Breakfast and Annual Report delivered by company president, Abigail Jennings. Jennings began the festivities by officially ringing in Lake Norman Realty’s 35th anniversary year. “This milestone is especially meaningful to me,” she shared, “because of what our industry has been through recently. The real estate landscape looks quite different today, but our company is stronger than ever.” Jennings followed those statements by recognizing her mother, Lake Norman Realty co-owner Jane Getsinger, for long-standing behind-the-scenes support and dedication.

Jennings’ annual report was filled with milestones, achievements, and impressive growth statistics. She reported significant growth for the company as a whole in 2012, citing a 29% increase in commercial sales, and a staggering 60% increase in closed residential sales volume over 2011. In addition, the firm completed exciting office upgrades in Statesville and Denver, including the relocation of the Statesville office to a prominent new space on Center Street downtown. Jennings went on to highlight successful 2012 initiatives to bring the best technology and service to their associates, clients, and community, such as a re-vamped website and expanded social media presence.

Lake Norman Realty’s family of staff and associates also grew in 2012. Jennings recognized sixteen new additions: Wendy Alford, Chuck Baldwin, Susan Brewer, Barbara Bulen, Ty Chapman, Chris Durant, Paula Dusharm, Shannon Edwards, Lauren Hill, Carole Krug, Sherri Moran, Jim Niemes, Rich Percudani, Tim Queen, Joan Tomasini, and Rich Tomasini.

Jennings went on to celebrate Lake Norman Realty’s high-profile Luxury Division for a record-breaking year in 2012. Congratulations went to associates Debbie Monroe and Amber Garchar for their sale of the exquisite $4.4 million Chateau Lyon estate, and to associates Eric Taylor, Audra Lattimore, and Nancy Hucks for shattering local real estate records with the sale of a $7.5 million luxury property in Denver’s Norman Estates.

The company’s efforts as a whole did not go unnoticed in the past year. Lake Norman Realty was honored by Charlotte Business Journal with three awards; “Largest Real Estate Companies”, “Largest Woman-Owned Companies”, and “Best Places to Work” top-finalist for the sixth consecutive year.

Lake Norman Realty’s trademark support for the local community did not waver in 2012. The company leant its financial support to over twenty local organizations and charities, and sponsored and participated in community events including Women’s Leadership Day at Davidson College, Realtor Care Day, Mooresville Artists Guild Spring Artfest, Christmas in Davidson, and many more.

Following her annual report, Jennings presented awards to individual Lake Norman Realty associates for outstanding achievements in 2012.

Jennings began by recognizing associates celebrating milestone anniversaries with the company: Mike Carver, Amber Garchar, Mary Lou Haraburd, Teresa Rodriguez, and Bill Sell for Five years; Maria Jacobs for Ten Years; Kay Helms for Fifteen Years; Ann Scott for twenty years; and Debbie Monroe for Twenty-Five Years.

The company’s highest honors went to Service Provider of the Year Ann Scott, for her perfect record of excellence from surveyed 2012 seller and buyer clients. The James A. Jennings Community Spirit Award for community involvement was awarded to Eric Taylor. Top Listing Associates were Debbie Monroe in the Cornelius Office, Michelle Nantz in the Denver Office, Richard Tomasini in the Mooresville Office, Darlene Teeter in the Statesville Office, and for the overall Top Listing Associate for the Company, as well as the Davidson Office, Nancy Hucks. Top Sales Associates honored were Debbie Monroe in the Cornelius Office, Michelle Nantz in the Denver Office, Maria Jacobs in the Mooresville Office, Darlene Teeter in the Statesville Office, and for the overall Top Sales Associate for the Company, as well as the Davidson Office, Nancy Hucks. After a review of 2012, Jennings shared her insights for 2013. “So what lies ahead?” she asked. “While I can’t speak for the economy in general, as far as our Lake Norman market is concerned, I’m optimistic that recent positive trends will continue in 2013. Pending sales are up, indicating that sales should remain strong into the New Year. Add to that appreciation in values, decreasing inventory, and continued low interest rates, and 2013 may just bring the market conditions we’ve all been waiting for.”

In 2013, Lake Norman Realty marks its 35th year of excellence serving the Lake Norman community as a one-stop shop for real estate transactions. With offices in Cornelius, Mooresville, Davidson, Denver, and Statesville, the firm focuses on the Lake Norman region from Statesville to Charlotte.
