Final building of an eight-ward strategy to address homelessness in the District

(Washington, DC) – (RealEstateRama) – On Tuesday, July 2, at 2 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will celebrate the groundbreaking of Ward 1’s Short-Term Family Housing (STFH) Program, delivering her commitment to close and replace the DC General Family Shelter with dignified, service-enriched programs in all eight wards. Short-Term Family Housing is a critical piece of the District’s homeless crisis response system and the Homeward DC plan to make homelessness rare, brief and non-recurring.
