Of the $106 million spent from the Housing Production Trust Fund, $7.4 million went to Channel Square tenants to acquire and renovate the property. Out of 231 units, 147 units are affordable as part of the Mayor’s affordable housing preservation strategy and will stay affordable for 40 years. The Mayor also invested $1.25 million into the largest private solar project in the city that will generate approximately 20 percent of the property’s energy – saving about $20,000 in operating costs each year.
