WASHINGTON, D.C. – October 20, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — The Prometheus Real Estate Group, based in San Mateo, Calif., took top honors as 2011 Property Management Company of the Year in the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Awards competition.
The Property Management Company of the Year Award honors significant, innovative and successful multifamily management practices, commitment to customer service and resident retention and dedication to employee training and development.
The Prometheus track record demonstrated all those qualities and more to the judges. The management firm aims to attract a creative group of renters with an approach that’s innovative and fun—a strategy that has contributed to the company’s strong growth. The judges also were impressed by the properties’ high occupancy rates, its creative approach to décor in the model units, its focus on friendliness and the fact that more than half the 700-person staff is involved in the firm’s volunteer programs in its various locations.
“We saw a need to challenge the traditional leasing experience and approach to design, which tends not to vary across the apartment industry,” Jackie Safier, president of Prometheus Real Estate Group. “Ultimately, the creative and hard work of our teams makes all of the difference in taking risks and having that received positively.”
NAHB Multifamily’s 2011 Pillars Awards recognized winners for excellence and superior leadership in 29 categories, including Development Firm of the Year, won by the DSF Group, Boston; and Community of the Year, won by Columbia Parc at Bayou District, New Orleans, developed by Columbia Residential and designed by JHP Architecture/Urban Design.
