WASHINGTON, D.C. – December 3, 2014 – (RealEstateRama) — Montgomery County’s Department of Permitting Services (DPS) has recently expanded its business and environmentally friendly online permitting system and now offers electronic plan submission for commercial building permits. Additionally, DPS recently added fire alarm and fire protection to its ePermits and ePlans.

Customers can submit plans 24/7 with no waiting — saving businesses valuable time and resources. Plan reviews are handled faster and more efficiently with electronic plans. ePlans for commercial building permits and fire alarm and fire protection systems is a major leap forward and joins the other eServices offered by DPS, including electrical, deck, new home and right-of-way permits.

The number of plan reviews has grown dramatically over the past five years by more than 30,000 reviews per year. eServices is a necessity for customers and for the environment.

“Our eServices is green and growing,” said DPS Director Diane Schwartz Jones. “Our customers can obtain permits and submit plans from the comfort of their own home or business. This service will save customers significant time, money, fuel and paper. Together, we will reduce our consumption of precious resources such as trees, fuels, time and money.”

Payments can be made online with credit cards and soon electronic bank payments will be accepted as well.
