Rolling Back Water Regulations Weakens Protections for All Americans, Says CAP’s Christy Goldfuss

-

WASHINGTON, DC – (RealEstateRama) — Center for American Progress Vice President for Energy and Environment Policy Christy Goldfuss issued the following statement today after President Donald Trump signed an executive order designed to start the process of rolling back critical clean water regulations.

The water crisis in Flint, Michigan, was a stark reminder that the nation has lots more work to do to guarantee clean drinking water and unpolluted waterways for all Americans. This executive order signals that the Trump administration did not learn the lessons of Flint and is determined to weaken protections for America’s waters. The Trump administration’s rush to find quick answers on this complicated issue will risk the protection of Americans across the country who depend on clean water to drink, to support their hunting and fishing, or to just get out to play.
