ALISO VIEJO, CA – March 30, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Carrington Companies (Carrington) is pleased to announce that through its collaboration with the Gary Sinise Foundation (GSF) and its R.I.S.E. program (Restoring Independence and Supporting Empowerment), the organization continues to directly support the custom Smart Home building initiative for severely wounded Heroes of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts with 11 homes planned for 2015, four of which are currently under construction. Each home is customized to ease daily challenges with features like retractable cooktops, specially adapted cabinets and shelving, roll-in bathrooms and more, in an effort to restore independence for the Veteran and their families or caregivers.

Last year, Carrington joined forces with GSF to provide donations and operational support for the completion of five homes as part of GSF’s R.I.S.E. program, including the swift completion of three homes in a 30 day period. Through the Carrington Charitable Foundation (CCF), Carrington further supports this initiative through various fundraising endeavors, most notably the Annual Golf Classic held every October, which raises in excess of $1 million each year.

“Support from organizations like The Carrington Companies is critically important to the Gary Sinise Foundation’s mission to make a true impact on the lives of our Veterans,” said Gary Sinise. “Each project is a tremendous undertaking involving custom construction and cutting edge technologies tailored to the needs of a seriously wounded service member. Through our partnership with Carrington and other supporting organizations, we’ll continue to restore independence and improve the lives of these American heroes and their families.”

CCF’s signature program, Carrington House, offers support for the severely wounded Veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts by providing housing assistance. Carrington House seeks to assist our Veterans through programs which include the collection of donated homes near key military hospital centers for families to live in during the difficult post-injury recovery process, as well as the rehabilitation and sale of homes donated by Bank of America. Funds from the rehabilitated home sales are directed toward the new homes for our Veterans constructed in collaboration with GSF and the many donors who make these Smart Homes a reality.

“This is not a passing interest for Carrington; taking care of those who have fought and served protecting our security and freedom is our core philosophy,” said Bruce Rose, CEO and Founder of The Carrington Companies. “Our company is fully and permanently engaged in this cause for the long term.”

“We owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to America’s service members, and are thrilled to contribute to such a worthy cause through the donations and resources we are able to offer,” said Rosemary Rose, Carrington Charitable Foundation’s Chairman of the Board.  “As we move into a new year, we are excited to continue our work and give our extraordinary Heroes and their caregivers a place to truly call home,” she added.
