Atlanta, GA – (RealEstateRama) — Red Propeller today announced marketing veteran Tyler Niess has joined the Seattle-based real estate advisory firm as its fourth partner. In this leadership position, he will help expand the company’s East Coast and international growth in the areas of strategy, marketing and sales management.

Niess joins Red Propeller from Crescent Communities, where he had served as chief marketing officer since 2012, and was responsible for developing and implementing creative, innovative and sustainable strategies to support the real estate development and investment company’s activities across all business segments, including commercial/mixed-use, multifamily, single family, and resort and second home communities. During his tenure at Crescent, he was an integral part of the company’s leadership team, playing a key role in positioning the company, enhancing product design and visioning, starting a proprietary consumer insights process, helping design and implement an industry-leading sustainability platform, and introducing a more data-driven approach to marketing. Last year, he played a central role in launching the company’s single family home building business, Fielding Homes, to the consumer market.

“We are thrilled to have Tyler join the Red Propeller team. He brings a wealth of experience and a strategic, research-based approach to real estate marketing and product strategy, which will translate well into our business and further strengthen our client services offering,” said Alison Jeffries, founder and CEO at Red Propeller. “His creativity, paired with the experience he has had as a part of the senior leadership of a real estate development and investment company the caliber of Crescent, makes him a fantastic addition to the team. His experience in marketing, business development and corporate strategy in both domestic and international markets will add to the work of our team.”

“We appreciate Ty’s contributions to Crescent and wish him all the best in his new role,” said Todd Mansfield, chief executive officer at Crescent Communities. “We are also pleased Ty’s new role allows us to maintain a relationship with him. Having the full Red Propeller team as a partner for our business and our leadership team is a great resource for our organization.”

Prior to joining Crescent Communities, Niess also held leadership positions at Playground Destination Properties, Frog Design and Critical Mass. Early in his career, he worked at global interactive agencies Organic and Modern Media.Poppe Tyson, now Digitas. He earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from Dartmouth College.
