Houston – April 14, 2014 – (RealEstateRama) — Gerald D. Hines, one of world’s most influential developers, will address the National Association of Real Estate Editors’ 48th Annual Real Estate Journalism Conference in Houston.

NAREE’s conference – “Uptown Energy” — will bring journalists from around the country to Houston June 11-14 to focus on housing, commercial real estate, sustainability, economics, design and online residential marketing.

“Mr. Hines has changed the way developers approach architecture, sustainability and the creation of skyscrapers and mixed-use developments,” said real NAREE Conference Chair Ralph Bivins, Realty News Report. “Houston’s skyline has been a canvas for many of his master works. So it is special to have Mr. Hines address NAREE in Houston as NAREE celebrates its 85th anniversary.”

With offices in 70 U.S. cities and 18 countries, the Hines organization has developed nearly 900 skyscrapers, master planned communities, resorts, retail, hotels and other projects around the world.

“We are looking forward to hearing Mr. Hines speak and take questions from reporters this year,” said NAREE President Daniel Taub, real estate editor for Bloomberg News. “NAREE conferences always feature some of the most newsworthy speakers on interesting real estate topics.”

The NAREE conference speaker lineup will include: home building analyst Brad Hunter, chief economist of Metrostudy; Anthony Hsieh, chief executive of LoanDepot; Christopher Volk, chief executive of Store Capital; multifamily developer Martin Fein; Joseph Greenblatt, president of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and Erica Campbell Byrum, director of social media for Homes.com.

A newsworthy forecast will be delivered by the Chair of The Counselors of Real Estate organization, Hugh F. Kelly, professor of Real Estate, New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate, New York City.

Additional speakers will be announced in later this month, as NAREE journalists plan for their Houston trip.

“NAREE 14 will bring staff and freelance journalists from the Los Angeles Times to the Chicago Tribune, the Washington Post and New York Times to tweet, blog, report and write about real estate — from the houses we live in, to the office and built environment for leisure, education, civic and health activities,” said Mary Doyle-Kimball, NAREE Executive Director.
