2011 International Builders’ Show to Showcase the Industry’s Largest Product Display

WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 6, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Housing professionals from across the country and abroad will convene at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 12-15, for the 2011 International Builders’ Show (IBS), the housing industry’s largest annual trade show and exhibition. The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) event, held in one of the largest convention centers in the country, will feature the most cutting-edge designs, technologies, and products for all segments of the industry.

Here are just some of the many exciting innovations that builders will see at the event of the year for the home building and remodeling industry:

Appliances:

Hearth & Home Technologies (Booth W4693) is showcasing its award-winning Solaris, a dramatic, circular, multi-sided gas fireplace featuring artistic design and flame performance never seen before in fireplaces. The Solaris will be on display in the Sea Breeze home in Show Village.

H-P Products (Booth 4692), manufacturer of the VACUFLO® and Dirt Devil® central vacuum systems, will exhibit an updated version of the Vroom® quick-clean central vacuum accessory, a hose management system that packs 24 feet of hose in a compact 3-inch wide space. The new Vroom features a sleek new appearance, convenient hose lock, vacuum power adjustment knob and a unique garage application.

Lennox Industries (Booth W3455), a leading provider of heating, cooling and indoor air quality systems, will showcase the SunSource Home Energy System – a new solar-powered central heating and cooling system that uses solar energy to reduce the electricity consumed by a residential heat pump or air conditioner. Lennox also will feature innovations in comfort controls, indoor air quality products, and a new furnace with an efficiency rating up to 98.2% AFUE.

Ultra-Aire (Booth W4793), a leading brand of whole-house ventilating dehumidifiers, will showcase its line of products that protect homes against interior moisture issues and provides fresh air ventilation. Every Ultra-Aire whole-house ventilating dehumidifier also meets or exceeds Energy Star qualifications and high-efficiency MERV-11 filters are standard on every unit to remove most airborne allergens. 

Building Accessories:

Architectural Products (Booth W5471), by Outwater, has just released its free 1,000+-page 2011 Master Catalog, which includes many of the 65,000+ decorative building products that will be featured at IBS this year. Intended to be much more than just a catalog, the Outwater catalog has served as a primary multipurpose reference source that industry pros have depended on since 1972.

AZEK Building Products (Booths W3601, W3611) will exhibit the AZEK Deck In-Deck Storage Kit for homeowners tired of trying to find a place to safely store furniture cushions and covers, umbrellas or other deck items. AZEK Deck’s storage compartment is concealed within the deck and blends right in.

Built-in lighting also allows outdoor enjoyment to continue into the evening.

Harmony Timberworks (Booth W6676) will introduce new timber frame home packages at IBS this year. These beautiful packages can be enjoyed as they are, or Harmony’s experienced design staff can customize them to consumers’ liking. The company also offers custom gazebo and pavilion designs. Harmony Timberworks has been providing the very best in timber frame products to the building community since 1979.

Panasonic Home & Environment Company (Booth W3929) will debut its third generation of the WhisperGreen line of premium ventilation fans, with 13 new Energy Star-rated models that offer enhanced energy-efficient, unparalleled performance and quiet operation at the industry standard of 0.25-inch w.g. The ceiling-mounted fans exceed Energy Star efficiency standards by up to 871%.

Plug ‘n Save Energy Products (W4778) will display the PV Solar Shutter, a custom, power producing window shutter that combines the energy-efficient properties of a shutter with the ability to produce power using renewable resources – all using eco-friendly materials and processes. The PV Solar Shutter is easy to install, portable and easy to use, and suitable for houses, condos, office buildings, and all kinds of rental units.

Propex Operating Co. (Booth W214) will exhibit NapaWrap Coastal HouseWrap featuring superior tear- and UV-resistance and designed to hang tough in coastal weather, including high winds and storms. NapaWrap Coastal HouseWrap comes with a tear-free guarantee.

U.S. Sunlight Corp (Booth W370) will introduce The Solar Controller, an accessory that will give solar powered attic fans the option to run off house electricity for continued attic ventilation after dark. U.S. Sunlight will also introduce the Skylight Tube, an energy-efficient tube light that merges the versatility of traditional “bubble” dome lens tube lights with the curb appeal of standard skylights.

U.S. Timberworks (Booth W6676) will release its new product line of timber frame architectural components, including decorative brackets, shed brackets, corbels, finials, gable trusses, and fireplace mantels. These offerings will make it easy and affordable to add the timeless beauty of timber framing and increase perceived value of your next project in today’s competitive and demanding marketplace.

Construction Materials:

Atlantic Premium Shutters (Booth W4001), by The Tapco Group, will introduce the new ProSeries Shutters – the contractor’s choice for versatility, custom color and outstanding charm. Hand-assembled from exterior-grade composite wood that will not rot, bend, crack or split, these shutters are available in four styles and shipped factory-primed and ready to paint.

Aquatherm (Booth W 3493) will showcase Greenpipe – approved by FM Global for use in concealed residential and light hazard fire sprinkler applications – and featuring: no rust, corrosion or scaling; and heat fusion welding connections, no glues or cements. Greenpipe can be used with glycerin and glycols and is impact resistant, freeze tolerant, clean, lightweight, and certified for potable water.

ARXX Corporation (Booth W3090) will introduce reFIT, an innovative energy-efficient finishing and insulation system for basements and interior spaces. The reFIT system enables contractors and homeowners to easily and affordably add comfortable living space.

Bilco Company (Booth N1037) will showcase basement improvement products designed to improve the appearance, function, and livability of finished basement areas by adding natural daylight, ventilation, convenient access and emergency egress that meets building code requirements.

Castia Stone (Booth W1388) will exhibit its concrete siding that gives homes and or commercial buildings the classic look of natural stone with a rainscreen technology to virtually eliminate mold and dry rot. Homeowners, home builders and designers will find the product perfect for new construction and remodeling applications.

DaVinci Roofscapes (Booth W5571) will showcase eight new roofing colors and eight new color blends as well as introduce the its new color expert, Kate Smith. The exhibit will feature the revolutionary Bellaforté line of interlining and self-aligning slate tiles, Valoré, Fancy Shake and the DaVinci’s original Slate and Shake products.

Convenience Products (Booth W5690) will feature the CPDS Series 2, a portable, constant pressure spray foam dispensing system that dispenses Class I fire retardant, thermal insulating and sound attenuating two-component polyurethane spray foam up to two and a half times as fast as foam kits. IQm Trim (Booth W4001), by The Tapco Group, will introduce three new profiles of its revolutionary color-through cellular PVC trim – 8-inch fascia board, Brick Mold with J-Channel and 5/4-inch Trim with J-Channel – and available in a large color selection including never-before seen shades like Vermont Green, Cabernet, and Ebony. IQm Tim features the patented AquaFlex Fin that channels water away from the home to help prevent mold and moisture damage.

James Hardie Building Products (Booth W4059), the leading manufacturer of fiber cement siding, will showcase its full line of durable, low-maintenance exterior products, including its new HardieShingle® siding and HardieTrim® Crown Moulding.

National Nail Corp. (Booth W220) will launch its CAMO™ Hidden Deck Fastening System – the first hidden fastening system to easily secure treated lumber, hardwood, cedar, composite or PVC deck board directly to the substructure. The patented deck screws and CAMO Marksman™ tools provide a high-end look without a high-end price.

Portland Cement Association (W2383) will highlight how concrete wall systems reduce the overall cost of home construction while producing healthier and more affordable dwellings. In-booth models also will illustrate the durability, affordability, and efficiency of these wall systems, which are locally available and easily understood by workers and homebuyers alike.

StoneCraft (Booth W4001), by The Tapco Group, will introduce its new Laurel Cavern Ledge stone veneer profile, which delivers a rugged, rustic signature appearance with long, thin stones. Crafted from meticulously handpicked stones, Laurel Cavern is the most sharply defined natural-style ledgestone, creating impressive scenes with authentic splendor.

Superior Walls (Booth W1283) will feature NAHB’s first green-approved foundation system, the Superior Walls Xi™ precast concrete wall system. The custom-built, energy-efficient systems use up to 70% less concrete in a new home than conventional foundations.

The Southern Pine Council (Booth W5949) will distribute its newest publication “Southern Pine Decks and Porches,” a 12-page construction guide that covers the proper steps for a successful outdoor project.

Trex (Booth W2571) will showcase the expansion of Trex Transcend®, the beautiful, high-performance decking and railing materials, with two new tropical-inspired styles featuring the beauty of streaked hardwoods. Trex also will feature its energy-efficient LED Trex Deck Lighting™ that combines safety with beauty, and the Trex Outdoor Furniture™ line offering livable design, sustainable materials and superior durability.

Doors, Cabinetry, Countertops and Windows:

Borano (Booth W5691), a manufacturer and retailer of custom, handcrafted, furniture-quality doors, windows and flooring created from genuine, sustainable mahogany, will showcase its new designs of artisan-carved mahogany doors – with a standard door thickness of 2-¼ inches – along with its other fine mahogany flooring, molding and window products.

Centor (Booth W1121) will exhibit F3, its new bottom-rolling hardware system that enables window and door manufacturers to offer folding doors to the lucrative renovation market. The F3’s innovative design ensures doors will operate smoothly well beyond the hardware’s 10-year warranty.

Clopay Building Products (Booth W2071) will showcase its line of eco-friendly composite carriage house-style garage doors, which deliver the beauty of real wood without the upkeep. They will also debut a new line of fiberglass entry door systems, uniquely designed to coordinate with its popular garage door styles.

Custom Window Systems (Booth W5189) will introduce its new “Prestige” series of French doors, available up to 8’x8’ with high DP for coastal installation. The company will also showcase its single vinyl 3’x8’doors available with 100 DP, and the all vinyl by-pass sliding glass doors available in sizes up to 16’x8′, impact and non-impact. These and other available energy-efficient impact and non-impact windows and doors will be on display.

Dunbarton (Booth W5553) will exhibit its EnClose® concept of semi-permanent steel panels to provide customized and expandable storage in garages, basements, sheds, and more.

Endura Products (Booth W4071) will showcase its all-in-one Multi-Point Astragal, which stops air and water infiltration by preventing door deflection inherent in traditional double-bore applications. The Multi-Point Locking Astragal makes multi-point performance standard by eliminating the expense and hassle of traditional multi-point hardware and the extensive rework required on doors.

Formica Corporation (Booth W3751) will feature its latest laminates, Premiumfx™ finishes and solid surfacing, including Calacatta Marble and Travertine Silver, two of the newly expanded 180fx™ Collection, which will be showcased in five-foot spans.

Fusion Hardware (Booth W3155), a recent Schlage acquisition, will launch The Elite Collection, a decorative solid brass offering with enhanced features, along with stainless steel products, interconnected handlesets and products that incorporate Schlage SecureKey® technology. Fusion Hardware also will announce the expansion of its Builders Hardware offering and showcase its existing product lineup, including decorative handlesets, entry plates, deadbolts, knobs, levers and other accessories.

Gorell Windows & Doors (Booth W351) will showcase its Energy Star-qualified Hurricane Impact Windows and Doors, with special emphasis on three windows that recently passed Dade County, Fla., impact testing for use in virtually any coastal area requiring impact protection. Gorell also will introduce its new Radiaflect line of reflective insulation for attics and walls, which can cut home energy costs by as much as 30%.

HomeRun Holdings (Booth W4043) will introduce its easily deployable WISP™ Window and Door Systems with integrated storm protection designed to protect property from damage from water, airborne debris, and sustained winds of up to 205 mph.

L.E. Johnson Products (Booth W6077) will showcase its heavy-duty, steel-studded pocket door frame, the Series 2060, capable of supporting doors up to 300 pounds. The pocket door frame fits walls with 2×6 studs and ensures that walls stay rigid and never flex. L.E. Schlage (Booth W3155) will introduce an alarmed lock that alerts homeowners to activity occurring around their entry doors and triggers on first impact – before the door is opened. The lock also can sound an alert if a child is trying to leave the house.

Trane (Booth W3155) will showcase the Trane ComfortLink™ II Thermostat, featuring a 7-inch interactive high-definition color touch screen that provides an intuitive user interface that brings year-round home comfort and control right to homeowners’ fingertips.

Lighting:

Cooper Lighting (Booth W1591) will be displaying its line of Energy Star-qualified Halo LED recessed downlights. The series offers the largest selection of LED product. Combinations including two aperture sizes (4 inches and 6 inches), four color temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K), 12 different recessed housings and a choice of 27 different trims to satisfy every lighting need.
