American Business Awards Recognize National Association of Realtors®

WASHINGTON, DC – June 20, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Yesterday the National Association of Realtors® was recognized with two gold Stevie Awards at the 10th Annual American Business Awards. The Home Ownership Matters Campaign won for Communications or PR Campaign of the Year in the Public Affairs category, and NAR’s Chief Executive Officer Dale Stinton won for Executive of the Year in the Real Estate category.

“Receiving these awards underscores everything NAR does to support our Realtor® members and ensure opportunities for homeownership and real estate investment,” said Stinton. “From our nationwide bus tour to our grassroots political advocacy and integrated media communications, to last month’s Realtor® Rally to Protect the American Dream on the National Mall, spearheaded by NAR President Moe Veissi, I’m really proud of what the association and its Realtor® members have accomplished during these challenging times, and to have it recognized by a highly regarded business group makes it even more rewarding.”

A record number of nominations were submitted this year with more than 3,000 from organizations of all sizes and from virtually every industry. The ABAs include a wide variety of categories including management awards, new product awards, marketing awards, public relations awards, human resources awards, information technology awards, web site awards, and more.

The awards acknowledged the efforts of NAR and Realtors® in tackling the nation’s most critical issues and challenges regarding buying, selling and owning a home, as well as addressing obstacles in the commercial investment arena. Programs like the newly established Realtor® Party Initiative and NAR’s national advocacy efforts on behalf of Realtors® and the consumers they serve demonstrate NAR’s commitment to effecting public policies that encourage and support homeownership and real estate investment.

Stinton was also recognized for his leadership toward a number of resources and initiatives on behalf of NAR’s members, including the growth of the Realtors® Property Resource – a national database of real estate property information that will give Realtors® an unparalleled way to serve their clients – and creation of Realtor® University, a groundbreaking educational initiative which offers professional development and continuing education in real estate.

“I consider myself pretty lucky, because I work for an organization that really makes a difference – for families, communities and the nation’s economy,” said Stinton. “I’m pleased to accept these awards on behalf of NAR’s 1 million Realtor® members and everything they do to advocate for real estate issues, build communities and help their clients achieve their real estate dreams.”

The National Association of Realtors®, “The Voice for Real Estate®,” is America’s largest trade association, representing 1 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.
