Statement from NAHB Chairman Dean Mon on Bill to Provide More Access to SBA Loans

WASHINGTON – RealEstateRama – Dean Mon, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and a home builder and developer from Shrewsbury, N.J., today issued the following statement on House legislation that would expand access to the Paycheck Protection Program:

“NAHB commends Reps. Chris Pappas (D-N.H.), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.), Gil Cisneros (D-Calif.) and Greg Steube (R-Fla.) for introducing legislation that would allow home builder associations across the nation to access small business loans under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Housing is an essential business throughout the nation and will play a critical role in providing jobs and bringing the country out of recession. Ensuring that trade associations that serve the industry have access to the PPP will allow them to provide critical resources and support to the small home building firms that are on the front lines working to provide sorely needed housing for Americans as the nation moves forward during this pandemic. We urge the House to move swiftly to pass this legislation and for the Senate to follow suit.”
