WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 1, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Thomas Vetter, MIRM, Master CSP, CMP, CSP, was appointed 2011 Vice Chair of the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC)this month during the NAHB Spring Board of Directors Meeting in Washington, D.C.Vetter is president of the western division at Accelerated Marketing Partners, a full service residential real estate marketing and consulting firm, based in Danville, Calif. He will begin his term as NSMC Chair during the 2012 NAHB International Builders Show in Orlando, Fla.
“I am honored to have been selected to serve as Vice Chair of NSMC, during these critical times,” said Vetter. “The housing market will not start to recover until more homes are sold. The nearly 5,000 NSMC members nationwide are at the head of the spear in this inhospitable home building environment. It is up to all of us to come up with new technology, innovation and practices in addition to more intuitive sales and marketing techniques to lead our industry to better times.”
Vetter also highlighted the value of the Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM) courses and designations provided by NAHB—Master in Residential Marketing (MIRM), Master Certified New Home Sales Professional (MCSP), among others—noting that such education is more important than ever in the housing industry.
“With anticipation of a future housing recovery, many building companies’ human resources departments and executive search firms are being charged with finding highly trained, battlefield-experienced individuals to lead their respective sales and marketing efforts,” noted Vetter. “There is a tremendous lack of supply of these types of skilled men and women, due to attrition, as we have slogged our way through the worst housing market in a century. NSMC and IRM stand ready to provide the talent to fulfill that need.”
Vetter serves as chair of the IRM Board of Governors and serves on the boards of both IRM and NSMC. He has served on all of the IRM and NSMC committees as well as the NAHB Board of Directors, Business Management and Information Technology Committee, the Associate Members Committee and the Gold Key Club for BUILD-PAC. As a national director of NAHB, he represents the North State BIA in California. He is also a past recipient of the IRM Friend of the Institute Award.
