Alliance To Save Energy Statement On Election Results

-

WASHINGTON – (RealEstateRama) — The Alliance to Save Energy released the following statement Wednesday from President Kateri Callahan regarding the results of Tuesday’s elections.

“First we want to congratulate President-elect Trump on winning a hard-fought election. We will work diligently to support the new Administration’s efforts to rebuild America’s infrastructure and manufacturing sector, through the key role of energy efficiency.

Companies across the country are finding that energy efficiency is a business opportunity. It’s about stimulating innovation and creating jobs, including in manufacturing, in a way that delivers tremendous return on investment and saves consumers billions of dollars. So we look forward to showing his team that energy efficiency is a common-sense, bipartisan way forward on some of our toughest economic, energy and environmental challenges.”

“No matter how citizens voted, I believe that what unites us all is we want Washington to get back to work on common-sense solutions and on cultivating bipartisanship where it can be found. A good starting point would be Congress returning to Washington in the lame duck and passing an energy bill that includes strong, cost-saving energy efficiency provisions that enjoy such broad support.”

“We at the Alliance are proudly bipartisan and we want to congratulate all of last night’s winners, particularly our honorary board members who won reelection, including Alliance Vice Chairman Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio; Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska; Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore.; Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Texas; Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill.; Rep. David McKinley, R-W. Va..; Rep. Paul Tonko, D-N.Y.; and Rep. Peter Welch, D-Vt. We look forward to working with them and all new members of Congress to continue building consensus around common-sense energy efficiency policies.”
