WASHINGTON, D.C. – December 8, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — NAHB’s National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC) has announced the finalists for The National Sales and Marketing Awards – “The NationalsSM.” Finalists are known as Silver Award Winners, with The Nationals Gold Award winner emerging from the field of Silver Finalists.Gold Awards in each category will be presented at The Nationals Gala, held in Orlando, Fla., next month as part of the NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS). The awards ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 12th at The Peabody Orlando, and is expected to draw more than 500 attendees.
Started in 1982 as the Institute of Residential Marketing (MIRM) Awards, The Nationals award program continues to recognize superior new home sales and marketing achievements. With 53 categories across various disciplines of the new home industry, the awards honor excellence in product and community design, advertising, marketing and sales achievements by individuals and sales teams. During a two-day judging process, a panel of six industry professionals from across the country selected this year’s Silver and Gold award winners from a field of more than 700 entries.
“This year’s Silver finalists have done amazing things given the current economy,” said Gaye Orr, chairperson of The 2011 Nationals. “Now is not the time to doubt the housing industry, but to celebrate all the accomplishments that we are still achieving.”
This year’s gala marks the 30th year of this event and will honor the innovation, creativity and endurance of the best in new home sales and marketing. The Nationals Gala will be the largest networking event for sales and marketing professionals at IBS. Cocktails, dinner and networking take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with the awards presentation beginning at 7:30 p.m.
NSMC will also present “Legends of Residential Marketing” honors to Richard Elkman, MIRM, President of Group Two Real Estate Marketing and Advertising and to the Green Companies—Alan Green, Founder; Dan Green, President; Tony Green, Managing Director; and David Caligaris, CEO—during The Nationals Gala. Since 1992, NSMC has saluted home builders and marketing professionals who have stood apart as giants in the new home marketing field as “Legends of Residential Marketing.” Legends are selected based upon their professionalism and commitment to this industry, along with the quality of their new home marketing.
