NAHB Honors Building Systems Industry Leaders

WASHINGTON, D.C. – October 25, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — The National Building Systems Councils (BSC) of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) bestowed 23 achievement awards to leading manufacturers and builders in the systems-built industry with the 2012 Jerry Rouleau Awards for Excellence in Marketing and Home Design.

For more than a decade, the BSC’s awards program has promoted excellence in the systems-built housing industry. This year, the awards were renamed to honor Jerry Rouleau, a marketing authority and longtime advocate of building systems, who lost his battle with cancer earlier this year.

“Jerry lent his sharp marketing mind to the systems-built industry for more than 25 years,” said 2011 BSC Chairman Harry Junk, a leading figure in the concrete building materials industry. “It’s only fitting that we honor his contributions, and his memory, to the BSC’s marketing and home design competition.”

The awards recognized those excelling in building with systems—concrete, log, modular and panelized homes—in the categories of home design and marketing materials. Award recipients covered the spectrum of the building systems industry, from diminutive cabins to sprawling estates, and interactive websites to inspirational marketing booklets.

“Even though the housing marketing recovery continues to be slow, this year’s award winners are a testament to residential marketing and home design concepts, and make positives strides for the building-systems industry as a whole” added Junk.

Winners will be presented their awards during a ceremony at the 2012 NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) on Feb. 6, 2012, in Orlando. Select projects will be on display on the BSC Awards Wall during the show. IBS is largest gathering of home-building professionals in the world.

Awardees also will be regularly highlighted in editions of NAHB’s e-newspaper, Nation’s Building News, throughout 2012, as well as in other NAHB and independent print and online publications.
