Volunteer efforts to focus on neighborhood transformation in three major cities
ATLANTA (September 15, 2016) – (RealEstateRama) — Habitat for Humanity today announced a national partnership with Quicken Loans, the nation’s second-largest retail mortgage lender. More than 1,100 Quicken Loans team members will volunteer a total of more than 6,000 hours rehabilitating and revitalizing neighborhoods in Cleveland, Phoenix and Charlotte, North Carolina.
“Volunteering is so much more meaningful and powerful when you can do it alongside community members who live in the areas being impacted,” said Chris Uhl, Quicken Loans vice president of Community Investments. “We look forward to rolling up our sleeves and working together to help residents revitalize their neighborhoods, while strengthening the pride and inspiration within the communities. Personally, I know I am looking forward to hearing about the history of these amazing neighborhoods from long-time residents, as we prepare the areas for their next chapters.”
Beginning today, volunteers will help rehabilitate three homes in the Victory Acres neighborhood of Tempe, Arizona. Continuing through September, volunteers will help rehab four homes in Cleveland, and will help construct an urban farm in Charlotte. Quicken Loans team members will volunteer alongside homeowners in each of these cities to help transform these communities into more vibrant and safe places to live.
“We are grateful for partners like Quicken Loans and their commitment to Habitat’s mission,” said Colleen Finn Ridenhour, deputy director of Corporate, Foundation and Institutional Relations at Habitat for Humanity International. “It is because of corporate partnerships like this one we are able to help more homeowners improve their lives and build stronger, safer communities.”
Quicken Loans offers its team members unlimited paid volunteering time with any of its 250-plus partner nonprofit organizations. In 2015, the company’s team members volunteered more than 100,000 hours with charitable organizations.
