CASSIDY ANNOUNCES $61.2 MILLION IN HURRICANE KATRINA, IDA RELIEF

WASHINGTON – RealEstateRama – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that Louisiana will receive $61,151,324.88 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Hurricanes Katrina and Ida relief. The Desire Community Housing Corporation will receive $7,336,611.68 for building replacement of the Desire Square Building as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Terrebonne Parish will receive $53,814,713.20 for permanent restoration of the Houma Power Plant as a result of Hurricane Ida.

“While the impact of these hurricanes can be felt long after the wake of the storm, Louisianans are resilient,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding helps our communities rebuild and prepare for the next storm.”
