WASHINGTON, D.C. – RealEstateRama – MBA’s President and CEO Bob Broeksmit, CMB, released the following statement following Fannie Mae’s and Freddie Mac’s (the GSEs) announcement of a voluntary implementation waiver for the Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD) 3.6:
“We thank Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director William Pulte and the GSEs for providing a temporary exception to the UAD 3.6 implementation requirements until May 19, 2027, which will give lenders and appraisers additional time to prepare for this significant change and help avoid unnecessary disruptions, longer wait times, or higher costs for borrowers.
“MBA has had extensive engagement with GSE leadership on the importance of a smooth implementation, and we appreciate their responsiveness to feedback from our members. The UAD 3.6 significantly improves the appraisal product by ensuring greater consistency and better readability. We will continue working closely with the GSEs, FHFA, and our members in the months ahead to support a successful transition to UAD 3.6.”
