NAIOP Installs 2014 Chairman Jean Kane

Welsh and Colliers International CEO Appointed Chairman of the Board

WASHINGTON, D.C. – December 12, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, has named Jean Kane, CEO, Welsh and Colliers International, Minnetonka, Minn., as its 2014 Chairman of the Board. Kane becomes the third woman to hold NAIOP’s highest elected position and will lead its executive committee and staff in the planning and execution of industry and association-wide initiatives in 2014. Her term begins January 1, 2014.

As CEO of Welsh and Colliers International – a fully integrated real estate services group – Kane actively oversees the operations of the company’s brokerage, real estate management, construction, architecture, capital and facility services. Under her leadership, the company has grown to a 300-employee firm and has been recognized as a top service provider throughout the Midwest. Kane was recently named a “Woman of Influence” by Real Estate Forum and one of “200 Minnesotans You Should Know” by Twin Cities Business Magazine.

Kane accepted the leadership position during the traditional passing of the gavel from 2013 Chairman Eugene Reilly, CEO for the Americas, Prologis, at NAIOP’s Development ‘13: The Annual Meeting for Commercial Real Estate, held recently in San Diego, Calif.

Kane joined NAIOP in 1992 and is a member and past president of NAIOP Minnesota. She is an alumna of Harvard University’s Leading a Real Estate Company program and served as chair of NAIOP’s Education, Government Affairs, Membership and Industry Trends committees. She is a NAIOP Research Foundation Governor.
