Young Responds to President’s Keystone Rejection

“They Chose to Kill This Project to Score Political Points with the Anti-Fossil Fuel Movement”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 10, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Alaska Congressman Don Young today shared the following comments after President Obama’s rejection of the Keystone XL Pipeline:

“With thousands of new jobs, billions in new private spending, and miles of new infrastructure on the table, the President chose politics and the views of the nation’s most extreme environmental groups over the American people, a bipartisan majority in Congress, countless small businesses and labor unions.

“The President’s own State Department said this project would have little to no impact on the environment, yet they chose to kill this project to score political points with the anti-fossil fuel movement. What’s seen as a major victory by the nation’s most extreme is actually a major blow to the U.S. economy, responsible resource transportation and infrastructure, and energy security.”
