Kirby will present, “Delivering Mobile Technology For Today’s Tech Savvy Renters,” sharing his insights on the latest trends in the use of mobile devices as it relates to the multifamily housing industry. Attendees will learn how mobile device access to the Internet is impacting the way multifamily communities are engaging with future and existing residents.

Kirby says, “Smartphone, tablet and other computer enabled mobile devices are the fastest growing segment for access to the Internet today. The next generation of renters is fully mobile, accessing media, local information and transacting business from the palm of their hand. Multifamily communities that are not delivering access to their full suite of online services in a mobile-friendly format are missing a major portion of the market.”

According to Kirby, the lines between desktop and mobile device Internet access no longer exists. “No one screen size has more than 20% of the market share, so delivering a format that will fit all is critical. Recent statics show that 50% of mobile phone users, use mobile as their primary Internet source, and one in three mobile searches are for local information. Multifamily owners and operators investing in flexible platforms that work across multiple devices will be rewarded with increased leasing activity and resident retention rates,” Kirby said.

“The multifamily industry has certainly embraced the power of social media as another channel to distribute information to both current and future residents. The latest social media stats show that 75% of Twitter and 71% of Facebook users access the service from a mobile device. This speaks volumes of where multifamily communities need to focus their online presence,” noted Kirby.

Always with an eye on the ever changing trends across the technology landscape, Kirby’s approach is to design web-based platforms that focus on delivering path-of-least-resistance functions to the end-user, while being attentive to each client’s goals. As a principal at 365 Connect, he leads a talented team of designers, programmers and social media specialist to deliver an array of innovative technologies in the multifamily marketplace. To date, 365 Connect has received 15 different technology awards, including an International Award for its mobile technology platform it delivers to the multifamily housing industry.

“I am honored to be speaking before my industry peers at The Tulsa Apartment Association,” Kirby said. “My goal is to educate, engage and deliver critical information that will grow awareness on how mobile device access to the Internet is impacting multifamily communities.”

A renowned speaker, author and media expert on technology in the multifamily housing industry, Kirby is scheduled to speak and moderate for several upcoming industry events including the NMHC OpTech Conference, Multifamily Conference Series Program and several Technology Conferences throughout 2013.
