“It’s a privilege to serve our more than 6,200 members and the broader land title insurance industry this year as the American Land Title Association president,” said Mennenoh who is also president of Galena, Ill.-based H.B. Wilkinson Title Company.

“I am eager to continue our work as an association and look forward to engaging ALTA members on our strategic priorities moving forward,” Mennenoh stated. “In 2017, we’ll focus on: expanding the understanding and acceptance of the ALTA Title Insurance and Settlement Company Best Practices; promoting simple and concise communication with homebuyers to explain the benefits of title insurance; creating a program to reflect the strength and power of our core industry values; educating our members on information security threats; increasing the skills of our workforce and attracting future leaders to our industry; and continuing the successful implementation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Know Before You Owe regulation.”

“ALTA is invested in developing our relationships with consumers, state land title associations, lawmakers, policymakers, industry partners and our members. As the real estate industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace, ALTA remains a forum to discover new ideas and trends in order to help our members succeed for years to come.”

The 11-member ALTA Board of Governors is responsible for promoting the industry, creating association policy, managing the financial health of the association and ensuring the overall welfare of the association.

“As ALTA grows and evolves to best suit our members’ needs, Dan’s leadership and deep, practical knowledge of the land title industry will serve as a tremendous asset over the next year,” said Michelle Korsmo, chief executive officer of ALTA. “Dan is an open, inclusive individual who treats each of our ALTA members as an extension of his family. We are lucky to have his wisdom and enthusiasm as we tackle the opportunities and challenges that lie before the land title industry.
