Apartment Industry Raises $61,000 For Wounded Warrior Project

BOCA RATON, FL – January 19, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — The inaugural National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) Walk for Our Troops raised $61,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project today, supporting an important program that aids veterans who suffered service-related injuries on or after September 11, 2001. The charity 3K walk/5K run took place during the 2012 NMHC Annual Meeting in Boca Raton, FL.

“I’m incredibly proud of the turnout for our service men and women,” said former Marine Jeff Stack, CEO of SARES•REGIS Group and Chair of the NMHC Walk for Our Troops. “By supporting organizations like the Wounded Warrior Project, we can ensure that every deserving veteran has access to the services they need.”

Their commitment is helping ensure the tremendous personal sacrifices service men and women make for our country are not forgotten,” said Wounded Warrior Project Executive Director Steve Nardizzi.

The Wounded Warrior Project offers free programs designed to heal injured veterans and provides tools for economic empowerment. The inaugural NMHC Walk or Our Troops, which began at 6:30 AM at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, drew participation from nearly 200 apartment professionals.
