Washington – RealEstateRama – Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation (Rainbow), a nonprofit organization which provides impactful resident services to rental housing communities throughout the country, donated backpacks and school supplies to 1,167 low-income families across 12 states this year. About 60% of the donations supported households living in Texas, California, and Washington.

Flynann Janisse, Executive Director of Rainbow provided this statement about the back-to-school drive:

“This year we reached 1,167 families, allowing their children to go to school with much-needed supplies. Coupled with last year’s supplies which primarily were not used, a total of 3,467 backpacks and supplies reached those who needed them most across the low-income affordable housing communities we serve. With an average cost per backpack and supplies worth $15, we saved our families approximately $52,005. We are grateful to our donors and supporters who made it possible for us to meet the needs of every family who requested support. We want to encourage more people to participate in this effort next year, in order to uplift additional households.”

Rainbow provides impactful resident services to 155 rental-housing communities, representing 22,551 units across the country. Programs addressing job readiness training, computer literacy, afterschool education, and more, help residents achieve their goals and discover a realistic path to self-sufficiency.
