College scholarship helped Webinsight founder and CEO Brianna Bussell earn a degree and she encourages others to apply

CHICAGO – RealEstateRama – Brianna Bussell is the CEO and founder of Webinsight, a web development company. As she adjusts to life in the COVID-19 era, she is also helping her clients shift their businesses from the real world to the virtual world.

“It’s just adapting and getting the job done,” said Bussell, a former Englewood resident who grew up in the Chicago Housing Authority. “Coming from where I come from, you have no choice but to be resourceful in order to succeed in life.”

Bussell also was resourceful in applying for a CHA Scholarship while an undergrad at Eastern Illinois University. It helped her earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and, ultimately, played a part in the realization of her business.

Under the CHA scholarship program, residents can apply for one of more than 250 college scholarships of $1,000. Awards are based on an applicant’s academic merit, community involvement and essay content. The deadline for the application period is midnight, Thursday, May 14, 2020.

Bussell encouraged students to apply for the scholarship because she knows how much it can help. “It’s going to assist you, whether you need help paying down a bill or putting extra money in your pocket,” said Bussell, who is currently working toward a Master of Science in Cyber Security. “The purpose of the CHA Scholarship is to help us succeed and to get us through college.”

CHA CEO Tracey Scott said: “Congratulations to Brianna, who is a shining example of what is possible through desire, determination and utilizing resources like the CHA Scholarship.”
