New Executive Vice President, Senior Vice Presidents and Vice President Named

LIVINGSTON, N.J., – February 6, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Gebroe-Hammer Associates, one of the most active multi-family investment sales brokerage firms in the New Jersey/Pennsylvania/New York region, has promoted four of its top-producing brokers to new executive management positions, announced Ken Uranowitz, president. Greg Pine of New Vernon was named executive vice president; Nicholas Nicolaou of Ocean Township and Stephen Tragash of South Orange were named senior vice presidents; and Debbie Pomerantz of Passaic was named vice president.

“This year will go down in the history books as a ‘legacy year’ for multi-family investment sales and Gebroe-Hammer Associates,” said Uranowitz. “Each of these individuals, who are among Gebroe-Hammer’s top producers, are a product of our industry-unique training program. Their collective expertise and contributions, along with those of our veteran management team members, will ensure Gebroe-Hammer’s enduring success for decades to come.” Uranowitz made the announcement at the firm’s recent 39th anniversary reception held at Crestmont Country Club in West Orange.

Gebroe-Hammer’s brokerage activities concentrate on suburban and urban high-rise and garden-apartment properties throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York as well as nationally. The firm also markets mixed-use and free-standing office and retail properties.

Pine, who joined Gebroe-Hammer 13 years ago, has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s presence in the high-barrier-to-entry Bergen County market. A newcomer to the multi-family brokerage field when he joined Gebroe-Hammer, Pine quickly emerged as a true company leader and was promoted from sales associate to vice president. Recognized as a Broker All Star, he also supervises and mentors the next generation of sales associates.

“There is so much more to closing a deal than the commission,” said Pine. “The longer you do this, you keep learning. This is vital because it allows us to serve our clients, from private owners to REITS, private equity firms and institutional investors, with value-add brokerage services within our defined markets and beyond.”

Tragash and Nicolaou joined Gebroe-Hammer as sales associates in 2006 and 2010, respectively, and are among the region’s leading urban market specialists.

Since the earliest days of the recession when he started at Gebroe-Hammer, Tragash has spearheaded the firm’s record-breaking activity and dominance in Union County. In addition, his territory extends to Hunterdon and Sussex counties as well as parts of Morris County, where he has recorded several high-profile transactions. Tragash represents a wide range of first-time and long-term clients in some of the region’s most prominent market and off-market transactions. His total sales during the past eight years involve more than 2,000 units.

Nicolaou also has been instrumental in facilitating several prominent transactions while focusing on investment real estate sales along the Hudson River Waterfront. In the past 12 months, he has closed more than $185 million in transactions throughout Northern New Jersey. He was the recipient of Gebroe-Hammer’s 2012 Salesperson of the Year Award, named in memory of the firm’s founders Mel Gebroe and Morris Hammer. He also has been consistently recognized as a NJ Top Broker and is a 2014 Tomorrow’s Leader: New Jersey Real Estate.

Pomerantz joined Gebroe-Hammer as a sales associate in 2011 to focus on Northern New Jersey’s Bergen and Passaic county markets. During the past 18 months, she has closed sales involving more than 556 units netting over $60 million. Pomerantz consistently obtains a high velocity of exclusive listings and also represents clients whose interests extend beyond Northern New Jersey. She is a two-time recipient of Gebroe-Hammer’s peer-selected Salesperson of the Year Award, a NJ Top Broker and was named a “Woman of Influence” in real estate. Pomerantz was promoted to assistant vice president last year.

“These individuals are successful because they recognize the importance of forging strong, long-term relationships and, as a result, are sought-out and respected by some of the most prominent multi-family property owners, investors, lenders and attorneys in the region,” said Uranowitz. “Each also has embraced the business teachings and principles – integrity, hard work, perseverance and market knowledge – passed on by the late Mel Gebroe and Morris Hammer.”

Founded in 1975 by Mel Gebroe and Morris Hammer, Gebroe-Hammer Associates quickly evolved as one of the tri-state region’s largest and most influential companies focused on investment real estate sales and marketing. Widely recognized for its consistent sales performance, the firm is a 10-time CoStar Power Broker.
