NJCDC to Give Paterson Kids 7,000+ Toys for the Holidays on 12/24

National -

Sunday, December 24, 2023, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

WHAT: After several intense weeks of soliciting, collecting, and organizing toy donations for Paterson children and families in need, NJCDC’s AmeriCorps members will host the organization’s 30th Annual Holiday Party on Sunday, 12/24 — Christmas Eve Day. At the event, the members will distribute gifts to more than 1,000 Paterson children. Kids will also enjoy festivities designed to inspire holiday cheer, including a visit from Santa (played by special guest Mayor Andre Sayegh), games, crafts, and much more.

WHO:   More than 1,000 Paterson children and their families will attend our Holiday Party throughout the day. NJCDC’s AmeriCorps members and staff, as well as volunteers, will give them gifts donated by numerous companies and private individuals, including the Daleo Family, TD Bank, Pascack Hills High School’s Project Paterson Club, the Cranford Jaycees, Nana’s Gift, and Cross River Bank. Mayor Andre Sayegh will be on site for the entirety of the event — as “Mayor Claus”— to spread additional holiday joy and take pictures with children and families at the party.

WHY:    The Holiday Toy Drive & Party is NJCDC’s longest-running tradition — we started it in 1994, our founding year. To many of the children and families we serve, it is truly a holiday miracle.
