NYS OASAS ANNOUNCES OPENING OF RENOVATED SOUTH BEACH ADDICTION TREATMENT CENTER ON STATEN ISLAND

New Facility Offers Variety of Services for New Yorkers Impacted by Addiction

WASHINGTON, D.C. – RealEstateRama – The New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) officially opened the newly renovated South Beach Addiction Treatment Center (ATC) on Staten Island today. This state-operated 30-bed facility offers a wide range of addiction treatment and recovery services, covering the full continuum of addiction care.

“This state-of-the-art facility will allow us to better meet the needs of New Yorkers affected by addiction, as well as offer vital resources and support for their families,” OASAS Commissioner Dr. Chinazo Cunningham said. “This is the result of a multi-year project, and we are excited to finally see the end result, and we look forward to the positive impact this will have on the Staten Island community.”

Services at the new facility are available to anyone 18 and over, and are offered in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Polish, Ukrainian, and Russian. Treatment services at the ATC include medication for addiction, psychiatry services, family support, and treatment for problem gambling, as well as recreational activities, skill training, and other recovery supports. The ATC also offers therapeutic approaches such as Animal Therapy and personal training to help support individuals through their recovery journeys.

The South Beach Addiction Treatment Center is located at 777 Seaview Avenue, Building #6, Staten Island, 10305. This is one of 12 OASAS-operated addiction treatment centers across New York State, which provide inpatient and residential services to approximately 8,000 individuals annually. The New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports oversees one of the nation’s largest systems of addiction services with approximately 1,700 prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery programs serving over 731,000 individuals per year.
