Officials to Release New Data Showing Severity of Construction Workforce Shortages and the Impacts of Enhanced ICE Enforcement Efforts During Virtual Media Event on Thursday, August 28 at 1 P.M. EDT

WASHINGTON, D.C. – RealEstateRama – On Thursday, August 28 at 1 p.m. EDT, the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and NCCER will release new data showing the severity and causes of construction workforce shortages and how recent enhanced immigration enforcement activities are impacting those labor shortages. The data will also show how firms are using technology and other measures to cope with labor shortages. The data will include national, regional and state* figures and be shared during a virtual media event.

Ken Simonson, AGC’s chief economist, will release the new data and identify measures public officials should take to address workforce shortages. Boyd Worsham, president & CEO at NCCER, will provide insights into current and future demand for construction education based on the data. Construction contractors will discuss local labor conditions and the steps they are taking to recruit and retain workers.
