Public hearing March 4 will address Housing Element Update

-

The City Council on March 4 will host a public hearing to consider an update to the Housing Element of the City’s General Plan.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – February 25, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — The Housing Element identifies the City’s housing conditions, needs and establishes the goals, objectives and policies that are the foundation of Mission Viejo’s housing and growth strategy. The Housing Element recommends ways to meet these needs while balancing community objectives and resources.

State law requires cities and counties to update their General Plan Housing Elements periodically to address changing housing needs and establish action plans to meet those goals. The Planning and Transportation Commission on February 11 recommended that the Council approve the proposed updated Housing Element.

The proposed Draft Housing Element is available at http://cityofmissionviejo.org/communitydevelopment.
The City Council meets at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 200 Civic Center. For more information, visit cityofmissionviejo.org or contact the Community Development Department at 949-470-3053.
