SIMPSON HOUSING GIVES BACK TO COMMUNITY THROUGH VOLUNTEER EFFORT

-

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — Simpson Housing® LLLP today announced that it is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its flagship national corporate volunteerism initiative, “Simpson’s YOU Make a Difference,” through a massive volunteer effort.

Mercy Housing

The real estate firm has chosen Mercy Housing, a leading national affordable housing nonprofit, as this year’s beneficiary. Over the course of two weeks, from October 10-21, nearly 100 Simpson Housing employees will complete projects at three Mercy Housing communities in Denver, Colo., the headquarters of both organizations. Another, smaller group of Simpson employees will be volunteering at two Mercy Housing communities in Los Angeles, Calif. on October 11.

The Simpson Housing team will volunteer 3,926 hours, the equivalent of 23 weeks, landscaping, painting, and cleaning the properties.

“This year, we wanted to make a difference within our own industry, which is why we chose Mercy Housing” said Lynsey Seminary, People Services Generalist at Simpson Housing. “As the affordable housing crisis continues, and in many places worsens, it is more important than ever to support organizations that seek to help our communities’ underserved populations.”

“These key upgrades will go a long way in beautifying these three properties,” said Jennifer Reed, Director of Philanthropy. “Perhaps even more importantly, residents will see that their community cares. We’re thrilled that Simpson Housing chose Mercy Housing as a partner in this admirable project.”
