PROVIDENCE, RI – October 27, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Rhode Island businesses, government agencies and nonprofit organizations are advised that Nov. 1, 2015 is the deadline for filing annual unclaimed property reports with the Rhode Island Treasury.
Rhode Island law §33-21.1-17, Report of Abandoned Property requires that government and non-government agencies review their books and records each year to determine if any accounts might be considered dormant and therefore unclaimed. Unclaimed property may include safe deposit boxes, payroll checks, bank accounts, insurance proceeds and shares of stocks.
