WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — During the 97th Annual AGC Convention in San Antonio, TX, the Building Division showcased two excellent sessions for members including a Building Division meeting and a session entitled “Lean Construction for Executives”. The Building Division meeting had two parts with the first presented by Ashley Phelps, Lean Practices Manager with Gilbane Building Company. The session reviewed Ashley’s transition as a scheduler to a Lean Champion where she launched the Last Planner system in under a year on projects in various stages of construction across Connecticut.

The second panel in the Building Division meeting was titled, “Understanding Multigenerational Perspectives: The Key to Developing Enduring Organizations” led by Maryanne Guido, CEO, Guido & Companies, Blaine Beckman, Project Manager, F.A. Nunnelly Company and Dustin Bass, LEED, AP, CPE, Consultant with FMI Corporation. The panel discussed the best practices for enduring organizations and debunking myths about the millennial generation based on the 2015 FMI Millennials Survey.

“Lean Construction for Executives” was presented by Eric Hedlund, Senior Vice President at Sundt Construction and Dave Stueckler, President and COO of the Linbeck Group. This session provided members with differing lean journeys of these industry leaders and gave members the benefits and challenges of implementing lean on a corporate level.
