Committee to Examine HUD, Consumer Choice and Financial Independence Legislation This Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 10, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) today announced the committee’s hearing schedule for the week of June 8:

Thursday, June 11 at 10:00 A.M. – A Full Committee hearing to examine the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s  budget, operations, and programs.

Witness:  Julian Castro, Secretary, Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Thursday, June 11 at 2:00 P.M – A Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee hearing to discuss legislative proposals to help preserve consumer choice and financial independence.

·       Jess Sharp, Managing Director, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness.

·       Hester Peirce, Director of Financial Markets Working Group and Senior Research Fellow, Mercatus Center, George Mason University.

·       Oliver Ireland, Partner, Morrison and Foerster, LLP.

Both hearings will take place in Room 2128 of the Rayburn House Office Building and will be broadcast live on the committee’s website financialservices.house.gov.
