U.S. Attorney’s office to investigate Flint Water Crisis

MICHIGAN – January 6, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Roughly two months after Progress Michigan called on Michigan’s federal investigators to look into the Flint Water Crisis, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced today it would be conducting an investigation.

“It seems like the only officials not taking the Flint Water Crisis seriously are Gov. Rick Snyder and the Republicans in the Michigan Legislature, the investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office is welcome and sorely needed,” said Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan. “While the governor continues to waffle on whether this man-made crisis rises to the level of an emergency, the people of Flint continue to seek answers as to why their water was poisoned. We need total transparency in this process to find out what Gov. Snyder knew and when he knew it, which is why we’ve called for all documents related to this crisis to be released to the public.”
