Nation’s Most Respected Housing Experts Discuss Solutions to Foreclosure Crisis & Ways to Recreate Sustainable Homeownership At National Community Reinvestment Coalition Annual Conference – March 12_15

600 Community Leaders Expected To Attend

WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — As the impact of irresponsible lending practices on the American economy become clear, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), one of the nation’s biggest and most respected coalitions for fair lending, will conduct its national conference on the issue March 12-15.

Last year’s conference provided substantive warning of the pending foreclosure crisis, and detailed the potential negative impact on America’s communities. This year, with the crisis in full swing and America’s economic indicators increasingly pointing to a recession, national leaders will discuss ways to put the housing finance market back on track, and to recreate sustainable homeownership for working families.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke will deliver the keynote speech for a special full day session entitled “Foreclosing on the American Dream: Recreating Sustainable Homeownership.” The session will feature plenary sessions including The Foreclosure Crisis: Multiple Points of Failure, Remedies and Needed Interventions and a roundtable discussion on policy recommendations with national experts.

Experts will be present from a diverse group of civic and financial industry organizations such as the Brookings Institute, Citi, National Consumer Law Center, HSBC America, the Ford Foundation, National Council of La Raza and Wall Street Without Walls and others.
