Thousands Gather on the National Mall to Prevent and End Homelessness

WASHINGTON, DC - November 22, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Today more than 15,000 walkers joined together on the National Mall to participate in Fannie Mae's 23rd Annual Help the Homeless Walkathon, raising awareness and funds to prevent and end homelessness.

HUD reports drop in number of chronically homeless persons living on nation’s streets

WASHINGTON - For the first time ever, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is reporting a nearly 12 percent decrease in the number of chronically homeless persons living on the nation's streets.
