WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — The House of Representatives passed H.R. 5063, the Stop Settlement Slush Funds Act, legislation authored by House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and part of the Better Way plan to restore self-government and the separation of powers. House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) issued the following statement:

Speaker Paul Ryan

“Here is a classic case of bureaucrats in this administration putting their interests above those of the people they serve. Taking settlement money from victims and funneling it to left-wing activists isn’t just wrong—it’s illegal. Chairman Goodlatte’s bill will halt this abuse of power at the Justice Department, and provide much-needed accountability. It is a better way to do the people’s business.”
